Thought Provoking Thursday

Am I Dangerous?

"Utterly ordinary, so commonplace, while we profess to know a power the twentieth century cannot reckon with. We are all sideliners, coaching and criticizing the real wrestlers, while content to sit by and leave the enemies of God unchallenged. We are spiritual pacifists, conscientious objectors in this battle to the death, with principalities and powers in the heavenly places. The world cannot hate us; we are too much like its own. Oh that God would make us dangerous."

Another update

Our boy is out of the OR now. Everything went great! They had to take out his appendix and something else - I was half asleep when mom called so I don't remember everything she said. The doc thinks that he can go home in three to five days. At first they said seven to ten so that was good news. Please continue to pray for his recovery!

Update

Johnny is currently in the Operating room. The surgery is supposed to be a couple of hours. He will be in the hospital at least a week if not longer. I haven't really gotten to ask how my sis-in-law in holding up through all of this. She is expecting so I am sure that doesn't make things any easier.

Urgent Prayer Request

My nephew was taken to the ER early this morning due to violent vomiting. They did some testing and have determined that he has "intestinal intussusception". He is in pretty serious condition. This can be a life-threatening condition if adequate medical care is not given. They transferred him to Baltimore late this afternoon. We are waiting to hear whether they are going to do surgery or not. Johnny just turned five last week. Please keep him in your prayers!

Thought Provoking Thursday

Oh, for spirituality and holy fervency that I might spend and be spent for God to my latest moment!

Thought Provoking Thursday

"If my life is surrendered to God, all is well.
Let me not grab it back, as though it were in peril
in His hand but would be safer in mine!"

Thought Provoking Thursday

"Lord, I give up all my own plans and purposes; all my desires and hopes, and accept Thy will for my life. I give myself, my life, my all, utterly to Thee to be Thine forever. Fill me and seal me with Thy Holy Spirit; use me as Thou wilt, send me where Thou wilt and work out Thy whole will in my life at any cost, now and forever."

Betty Scott Stam, martyred missionary to China
