Thought Provoking Thursday

Am I Dangerous?

"Utterly ordinary, so commonplace, while we profess to know a power the twentieth century cannot reckon with. We are all sideliners, coaching and criticizing the real wrestlers, while content to sit by and leave the enemies of God unchallenged. We are spiritual pacifists, conscientious objectors in this battle to the death, with principalities and powers in the heavenly places. The world cannot hate us; we are too much like its own. Oh that God would make us dangerous."

It's a Jim Elliot quote. Just make sure you're nice to "dangerous" people. It's one thing to think we should be dangerous. It's another thing to get out of the boat and actually start walking on the water. When you do, you risk "sinking", and "sinking" can be an embarrassing thing. By all means, Jesus will save you - but not everyone will understand. Some will just sit in the boat and "look the other way". "Dangerous people" are out there - and if you're sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit, you will recognize them and do what you can to minister to them. Then, in Matthew 25, you'll realize that Jesus was that "dangerous" person.

Sincerely,

Daniel
